All even in Dubs Stars football challenge

Mon, 1st February 2016

DUBLIN 2-14 DUBS STARS 1-17

Dublin club football proved it’s in a healthy state when Jim Gavin’s Dublin and the Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars served up an entertaining high-scoring draw in Sunday’s challenge in Kilmacud Crokes.

Ballyboughal’s Gerry Seaver kicked five excellent points in the opening half as players on both sides showed great enthusiasm for an early season challenge with Dublin’s match on Saturday v Kerry and Ballyboden St Enda’s training weekend testing the depth of club talent available last weekend.

The Dubs Stars led 0-11 to 1-6 at the break with Philly Ryan grabbing the goal shortly before the interval.

Thirteen minutes into the second half Conor McGuire added a second for Dublin.

However, the Dubs Stars did not buckle with scores from Chris Galvin and Tomás Quinn cutting the deficit before Niall Collins drilled to the net in the 55th minute.
