Boden know St Loman’s will test them to the full

Wed, 18th November 2015

Ballyboden St Enda's face Westmeath champions, St Loman's, this weekend in Mullingar's Cusack Park (2.0) knowing their will have to produce their Sunday best to progress to the AIB Leinster Club SFC final.

"We are well aware that Sunday is going to be a huge challenge for us and there is no way that we would underestimate any team left in the championship, never mind a team with the quality that St Loman's possess," says Boden selector Finnian Hyland.

"They have a really strong unit that is sprinkled with star players like John Heslin and Shane Dempsey and they are doing an awful lot right in winning championships in Westmeath. We certainly feel that it will be an uphill task for our lads if we are to progress."

Boden will be without centre-forward Ryan Basquel (fractured jaw) who performed heroically in their Dublin SFC final victory over St Vincent's.

"Ryan is a massive loss for us and it's so unfortunate for him to have suffered such an injury given the work he has put in with this team down the years.

"However, there has been great leadership from the lads since his injury and we are well aware that 15 lads don't win championship games on their own anymore and that the depth of the panel is the most important thing to us," adds Finnian.

The southsiders will be hoping their can bring plenty of support form the capital on Sunday to help them over the line.

"We're very conscious and proud to be representing Dublin and would hope for support from all clubs on the day if possible. However, just because we are the Dublin champions doesn't give us a divine right to win as we know how tough it will be on the day," concludes Finnian.
