KILMACUD CROKES 0-15 PARNELL'S 1-9

Kilmacud Crokes were pushed all the way by Parnell's before eventually emerging victorious in this Dublin SFC second round at Blakestown Road on Friday night.

A second half flurry of points at the three-quarter mark from Callum Pearson, Conor Kelly, Mark Vaughan, Shane Cunningham and Pearson again gave Crokes just about enough breathing space as they progress to the last-eight of the competition.

But they had to work hard for their reward with Parnell's starting impressively with an early goal from Pearse O'Hanlon.

Soon after Stephen Duffy added a point for the Coolock side before points from Paul Mannion (pictured), Pat Duggan and Conor Kelly brought the sides level, 0-4 to 1-1.

Jonathan Bealin's free edged Parnell's back in front before three Vaughan points without reply helped his side to a 0-8 to 1-3 interval lead.

The came Crokes crucial flow of scores, kicking five in-a-row to put themselves in a winning position.

Parnell's battled to the finish before sub Tom Fox's point ensure there would be no late shock at the home of St Peregrine's.
