Legends Tour with Mickey Whelan

Legends Tour with Mickey Whelan

Mon, 18th August 2014

Dublin legend and St. Vincent's icon, Mickey Whelan, is leading a unique hosting of the Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tour of Croke Park.

There are few who have committed more to Dublin football than Mickey Whelan who has served the county as player, manager and selector. In his playing career Whelan won three Leinster Senior Football medals and was part of the side who won the National Football League in 1953. He also received All-Ireland senior football medals in 1958 and 1963.

At club level, Whelan had success with both St Vincent’s and Clanna Gael. He won his first Dublin Senior Football championship with Clanna Gael in 1968 and went on to win the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship with St Vincent’s. Most recently Whelan served as a selector for Pat Gilroy’s Dublin team. Gilroy had played under Whelan when he managed the St Vincent’s team to All-Ireland club glory in 2008.

This great opportunity gives you the chance to enjoy a unique tour of Croke Park in the company of a GAA legend. A must for all GAA fans, the presence of Mickey Whelan on this Tour lets you hear first-hand what it's like to play and manage at the top level in Gaelic football.

The Tour will take place on Thursday, August 28th. Early booking is advised as places are limited.
