Minor hurlers ready for semi-final duel with Limerick

Tue, 2nd August 2016

Dublin minor hurling manager, Johnny McGuirk, is confident his team are hitting form at the right time ahead of this Sunday's All-Ireland MHC semi-final against Limerick in Croke Park (1.30).

“I think it’s fair to say that we have got so far without the forwards really clicking and playing to their potential," says Johnny.

“They haven’t shown their best form both as individuals and collectively but we’ve still managed to win a Leinster Championship.

“To win any championship, you need to peak at the right time and I feel that the attacking players are all coming into form at the right time by what we have seen in training.

“There has been a huge improvement in recent weeks in terms of their sharpness, movement and interplay and I expect them to carry on that form into the game on Sunday.

“We gave them a week off after the Leinster Final but the lads have come back in great form.

“That Leinster win is forgotten about now and we have two more challenges and obstacles to overcome.

“While it was great for the lads to win Leinster in terms of confidence, we haven’t even discussed it since we resumed training.

“We need to be ready to go from the first whistle and I’m confident that our attitude will be spot on for the match."
