TESCO Home Grown NFL Division 1 Semi-final

Sunday April 26th, 2pm

Dublin v Galway

Venue: St Loman's GAA Club, Mullingar

Dublin manager Gregory McGonigle has kept faith with the same starting 15 that dismissed Cork on April 12 last for this Sunday’s crunch NFL semi-final clash with Galway.

All- Star forward Noelle Healy who is named at number 12 for the Blues is expected to be fully fit for the trip to Mullingar having experienced a slight hamstring pang in the encounter with Cork.

Healy as a precautionary measure was withdrawn from action early on in the Cork game and replaced by Nicole Owens. Owens proved to be more than an able sub for the 2014 All Star.

The St Sylvester’s sharp shooter took the opportunity presented to her by netting two vital goals for her side while going on to finish out the game as the Dubs top scorer.

The last time these two sides meet was back on February 8th on that occasion Dublin had to dig deep to earn a draw coming away from a foggy Tuam Stadium with what would turn out to be a crucial league point, the final score line read Dublin 1-12 Galway 2-09

Carla Rowe was Dublin’s leading scorer back in February finishing that contest with 5 points while Niamh McEvoy got the blues only goal. Galway veteran forward Edel Concannon rolled back the years bagging two goals for the tribe’s women while experienced midfielder Annette Clarke was clinical from frees converting five in total for her side.

Having lost the 2014 NFL decider to Cork the Dubs would dearly love to book their place in the final which takes place on May 9th in Parnell Park.

Galway will look to experienced stalwarts like Annette Clarke, Ger Conneally andEmer Flaherty to help push them over the finishing line in Mullingar while up and coming stars Louise Ward, Olivia Divilly and Nicola Ward possess the talent to cause Dublin some concern.

Dublin LGFA will have LIVE score updates from Sunday’s semi-final available via their Twitter account @dublinladiesg
