We have been grinding out results: David Treacy

Fri, 28th October 2016

Cuala forward David Treacy is hoping his side can find the scoring touch in Saturday's Dublin SHC final against Kilmacud Crokes in Parnell Park (3.0).

The Dalkey side's defence has been impressive in the campaign but the attack has not been as free-scoring as they were last year when capturing the capital prize.

"We haven't been as free-scoring as last year. But then, when you're playing as champions, it's never easy to replicate.

"We came in, not under the radar last year, but in some respects the surprise package. This year our card is marked. Everyone is aware of what we have, and it has been more difficult.

"But we're just concentrating on ourselves. Obviously we're in the final now, it's exactly where we want to be. Every forward wants to bag three goals, but it doesn't come that easily.

"The important thing is that we have been grinding out results – Lucan (in the semi-final) was a grind as well because we were particularly off-colour in the forwards."

The curtain-raiser on Saturday is the Dublin MHC 'A' final between Na Fianna and St Vincent's which now throws-in at the later time of 1pm.
