Wins for Cuala and O’Toole’s in SHC

Mon, 26th September 2016

Reigning champions Cuala moved into the Dublin SHC 'A' quarter-finals when defeating St Vincent's by 0-18 to 1-7 at Parnell Park on Saturday.

Darragh O’Connell was one of the major driving forces for the Dalkey men who still have hopes of a league and championship double having secured the AHL1 title two weeks ago when defeating O’Toole’s in the final.

As ever David Treacy was prominent from placed balls as Cuala overcame the setback of a second half goal from Alan Moore to progress with eight points to spare.

Cuala face Ballyboden St Enda’s in the last-eight this weekend.

O’Tooles will face Crumlin this weekend at the quarter-final stage following their 3-17 to 1-16 victory over Na Fianna at Parnell Park.

First-half goals from Liam Ryan and Paul O'Donoghue steered O’Toole’s to a 2-10 to 1-8 interval lead with Gavin King gaoling for Na Fianna.

O’Donoughue’s fine second half goal saw O’Toole’s to victory despite having Philip Brennan and Christy Mulligan dismissed.
