Katie Taylor launches Kilmacud Crokes Health and Wellbeing Video:

Katie Taylor launched the Kilmacud Crokes Health and Wellbeing video at the Bank of Ireland Community Enterprise Day held in Glenalbyn on Saturday 3rd October. The inspirational video was the brainchild of Lucy Mannion who is part of the very active "Crokes Talks" committee in Kilmacud. Introducing the video, Chairman Kevin Foley outlined the central role that Health and Wellbeing is now playing in Kilmacud Crokes and thanked Kevin Mulligan and the committee for all their hard work.

"The idea behind the video was to capture the commitment of our players and coaches to emulating the philosophy of the GAA Mental Health Charter, in a style that is easily accessible on social media. Importantly, the video also highlights the importance of recognising signs when we are not ok. Our wish is that it will encourage members to come forward and talk about their problems, by conveying the message that it is ok to have setbacks, and highlighting the empathy and support that is offered by our great community of teammates, coaches, mentors, captains, parents and so on".

Stephen Maguire, from Smartperformance.ie, spoke on the importance of taking control of your positive mental health and wellbeing. Stephen is also Secretary of the Dublin GAA Health and Wellbeing Committee. Clare O'Sullivan, chairperson of the Dublin Gaa Health and Wellbeing Committee thanked Kilmacud Crokes GAA for their efforts in making Health and Wellbeing a pivotal part of life at club level in Dublin GAA.
