Dublin GAA Juvenile update Friday March 13th

Dublin GAA Juvenile update Friday March 13th

Fri, 13th March 2020

As per the notification issued yesterday in relation to Covid-19 - All GAA activity ( games and training sessions ) are cancelled until after 29th March.

Dublin GAA including the juvenile section will continue to monitor the situation, acting on advice from the Government, HSE and GAA Central Council and will provide updates to clubs accordingly.

Important to note that the G.A.A. Players Injury Scheme is suspended from yesterday until 29th March inclusive.

We ask everybody to follow the guidelines issued by the HSE.

Please note the follow regarding the juvenile programme:
The CCC2 County Delegates meeting in Parnell Park on Wednesday March 18th is cancelled . The meeting was to approve Hurling Féile , Football Féile & U15 Football Championship gradings & to carry out all draws.

As per the issued proposed gradings which I attach again today at 4pm is the deadline for feedback from Clubs. Based on feedback received CCC2 will update and reissue proposed gradings on Monday and perform the draws on Wednesday ( Clubs will be circulated confirmed details on Thursday morning).

Based on the current situation CCC2 in agreement with Bord na nÓg are to postpone the Dublin Hurling Féile (Sat 18th/Sun 19th)and reschedule to a date (TBC) later in the year.

Féile is a festival of sports, more about the interaction of people (Players/Mentors/Supporters) over the course of the two days. The decision is taken in light of the obvious constraints as advised by HSE likely to be in place post the resumption on March 29th activity and the fact Féile puts a huge onus on Host Clubs to take an influx of visitors, feed them etc while we have an ongoing curtailment of social norms.

We shall leave the Dublin Football Féile (2nd/3rd May) as is, for the moment, and monitor the situation.

CCC1 have also decided that the U8 Hurling Blitz on April 4th will not procced but will be replaced by a regular round of U8 Hurling games.

The U12 Football Blitz grading games not taking place this Saturday will now proceed on April 25th - deferring the start of the U12 Football Leagues - the same scenario likely to apply for U12 Hurling Leagues but more details later in the month.

***please note to avoid any confusion the above announcement has no impact on the National Féile na nGael taking place this year in Dublin , Kildare & Meath on June 5th/6th/7th and relates only to the Dublin Hurling Féile in April.

In the meantime we continue to encourage all members to follow the guidelines which have been provided by the health authorities.

Yours in Sport,
Damian
