Dublin GAA Juvenile update Wednesday 19th August

Dublin GAA Juvenile update Wednesday 19th August

Wed, 19th August 2020

Mo Chairde,

CCC2 has received correspondence from Fingallians that the HSE have told them all juvenile matches and training to cease for week of August 17th.

Therefore, on the recommendation of the HSE, CCC2 & CCC1 MUST pull all game up to midnight Sunday August 23rd involving Fingallians.

The first scheduled games for Fingallians following the HSE imposed lockdown will be the U16 Hurling Championship on Tuesday August 25th.

All games not played will have to be rescheduled by the two committees.

As notified last night CCC1 called off the scheduled U12 games for tonight and I can only repeat again the Dublin County Board will issue a further update as soon as the full facts are known.

What does that mean?

At the moment games like U16 Football Championship on Thursday and Hurling Féile on Saturday are on BUT can we ask parents to drop off their children at a public park and disappear for 90 minutes!!!

Can juvenile teams continue to train?

Awaiting clarification but I think the position is underage training groups must include two coaches and up to 13 players, while adult training groups must include one coach and up to 14 players

To repeat DCB, Bord na nÓg, CCC1 & CCC2 will try and update you as quickly as clarification is received. As a minimum we need to advise Clubs concerning the U16 Football Championship fixtures on Thursday night.

Stay Safe

Yours in Sport,

Damian
