Boden boss Fortune wants Dublin fans to rally to cause

Wed, 14th November 2018

Ballyboden St Enda's will be hoping the familiar surrounds of Parnell Park can aid them to victory in this Sunday's AIB Leinster Club SHC semi-final against Offaly champions Coolderry (2.0).

It took Ballyboden extra-time before overcoming Westmeath's Clonkill in their provincial quarter-final while the men from the Faithful County saw off the challenge of Carlow's Mount Leinster Rangers, 1-22 to 1-16, in a more clear-cut fashion despite finishing the game with 13 men.

“Coolderry have serious pedigree and have a serious bunch of forwards,” says Boden manager Joe Fortune.

Coolderry captain Kevin Connolly struck 0-7 from play against Mount Leinster Rangers, Brian Carroll tallied 1-5 (0-3f) while Mark Bergin had 0-3 to his credit before being dismissed late on.

“They had a massive battle with Mount Leinster," adds Joe.

The Ballyboden St Enda's boss is hopin Dublin fans will rally behind his side for Sunday's tie at the Donnycarney venue.

“We are facing the Offaly champions and it will be in Parnell Park. I’d love the Dublin hurling people to come out and get behind the Ballyboden team.

“There is potential in them but now is the time maybe that we need that extra roar to get them over the line in the next couple of weeks."

St Maur's are also in Leinster Championship action this weekend as they face Kilkenny's Dunnamaggin on Saturday in their Leinster Club JHC semi-final in Callan (1.30).
