Sat, 9th May 2015

Clontarf narrowly overcame Fingal Ravens, 0-13 to 3-3, in their Dublin SFC first round duel in Balgriffin on Friday night.

Ravens scored two first half goals through Niall Tormey and Derek Daly but points from Jack McCaffrey (two) and Paddy Breen edged Clontarf in front by the interval, 0-7 to 2-0.

Ten minutes from time Ciarán Norton struck for Fingal Ravens' third goal but again it was Clontarf who concluded the half on the up with vital scores from Ciarn Johnston (two) and an Ian O'Dwyer free.

At O'Toole Park Na Fianna also finished the stronger to defeat Thomas Davis 0-16 to 1-9.

The Kiltipper Road men led 1-6 to 0-8 at the break and it was still all to play for going down the home straight before points from Conor McHugh, Adam Caffrey and Tomás Brady with subs Aaron Byrne and Eoin Murchan contributing well to help Pillar Caffrey's side to victory.

Meanwhile, Cumann Peile Cill na Martra Comóradh Sheáin Uí Shíocháin takes place this weekend when Dublin travel to play Cork in a senior football challenge game on Sunday in Cill na Martra (3.0).
