2026 Season: The Journey So Far & The Road Ahead

2026 Season: The Journey So Far & The Road Ahead
Sat, 16 May 2026

The 2026 Intercounty season began with a significant challenge, as the team faced a shaky start in the opening games of the League campaign and the loss of their captain to injury before the League Final.

However, true to the spirit of this group, the girls refused to buckle. They fought their way back into contention, showing incredible grit to reach both the Division 1B League Final and the Leinster Senior Championship Final.

While the results in those two finals didn’t go our way, the performances proved that this team belongs at the highest level. The disappointment of those narrow misses has only served to sharpen the focus for the biggest stage of all.

The Main Event: All-Ireland Championship

Now, the focus shifts entirely to the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship. We find ourselves in a highly competitive Group 2, alongside Kilkenny, Clare, Limerick, Wexford, and Offaly.

The slate is wiped clean, and the journey begins again on May 23rd. With the lessons learned from the League and provincial campaigns, this team is ready to leave it all on the pitch.

Mark these dates in the calendar! Here are the matches for the girls in blue as they aim for the knockout stages:

After the grit shown in the National League and Leinster finals, this group of players has every reason to be confident heading into the opener against Clare!

Best of luck to the team as they get their championship underway on Saturday 23rd May where they take on Clare (away) for the third time this season —after the battles they've already come through, they'll be more than ready!
