A Round-Up of Go-Ahead Irelands AFL 3 & AFL 4

A Round-Up of Go-Ahead Irelands AFL 3 & AFL 4
Wed, 18 June 2025

There was no movement at the summit of the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Football League Division 3 table on Tuesday night as leaders St Maur’s and second-placed Clanna Gael Fontenoy both enhanced their promotion prospects.

In Rush, St Maur’s defeated Erin’s Isle by 1-20 to 1-12 while Clanna Gael picked up a 1-20 to 0-10 victory away to St Patrick’s Palmerstown.

However, the race for third spot is very much alive as Round Towers Clondalkin moved two points clear of their fellow challengers when easing past St Finian’s Swords by 4-17 to 1-5 at Ridgewood Park.

Ballyboughal made the most of Erin’s Isle’s defeat when registering an impressive 3-17 to 3-14 victory over Ballyboden St Enda’s in Sancta Maria.

The visitors impressed at the back through the efforts of Simon Barrett, Will Rafter, Cillian Murphy and Danny McGill while their midfield pairing of Cahal Flynn and John Rodgers were their usual effective selves.

Barrett (1-0) and McGill (0-2) added crucial scores for a ‘Boughal side that did enough to prevail through the scoring contributions of Cian Downey (1-4), Matty Farrell (1-2), Ciaran Wynne (0-4), Cian Warren (0-2) and Cian Casey (0-2).

Meanwhile, St Margaret’s cemented their mid-table position as they defeated Ballymun Kickhams by 3-20 to 1-18 in St Margaret’s.

Leon Daly (1-4), Brian Shanahan (1-3) and David Reilly (1-3) kept the home scoreboard ticking over with Charlie Madigan, Scott Kennedy, Shane Madigan, Darren Keogh and Jamie McGuinness also troubling the umpires.

McGuinness impressed throughout at centrefield for Maggies with goalkeeper Jack Murphy, Ryan Twomey, Dean Fox and Jordan Spratt shining in a defensive capacity.
