A Round up of the Weekends Go-Ahead Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
Mon, 14 July 2025

Crumlin impressed from the outset when getting the better of St Peregrine’s by 3-18 to 1-16 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship clash at Blakestown Road on Thursday night.

In what was a repeat of last year’s Junior ‘A’ decider, the visitors raced from the blocks with early goals from Lee Coleman and Adam Doyle helping build a seven-point buffer by the 10thminute.

The hosts gradually clawed their way back into contention but a Conor Murphy goal in the second-quarter pushed Crumlin into a 3-8 to 1-9 interval lead.

The contest remained keenly contested after the break with a healthy level of physicality on show but the visitors withstood some consistent home pressure through excellent individual displays by full-back Conor Foley and Shane Lawlor at wing-back.

There was another impressive away win in Silver Park as Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels edged Kilmacud Crokes by 4-17 to 3-17 on Saturday evening.

Fiach Lupton top scored for the visitors with a personal tally of 1-6 (2f), while the other Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels goals arrived courtesy of Adam Skelly, Dylan Kearns and Shane Ryan.

Matters remained tight throughout with the visitors doing enough to prevail thanks to three points apiece from Adam Quinn and Luke Blood while Brian Mahon and Richie Delaney chipped in with a brace each.

At the 12th Lock, Lucan Sarsfields recovered from a difficult start to eventually ease past Round Towers Clondalkin by 5-17 to 1-15.

Despite conceding 1-1 in the early stages, the hosts settled into the encounter as the livelyDarragh Meehan struck for their first goal in the 10th minute while David Mulqueen added a second within three minutes.

The hosts dominated the remainder of the half with scores by Ryan Clancy, Colm Keenan and Joey Dunne helping build a 2-11 to 1-4 interval advantage.

Towers clawed their way back into contention when scoring six points in the third quarter but Meehan’s second goal in the 52nd minute ended any hopes of a successful comeback.

Substitute Charlie Mulqueen netted a deserved goal in added time as the hosts finished on the front foot through influential performances off the bench by Liam Fitzgerald, Paul Claffey and Rob Keher and they piled on the pain through late points from Dunne, Conor Dillon and Keenan.

Scoil Uí Chonaill were another team to make the most of home advantage as they registered a comfortable 2-25 to 2-11 win over St Maur’s on the Clontarf Road.

The defensive contributions of Joe Ryan, Ruairí Coady and Oisín Benham set the tone for Scoil with midfielder Paudie Conlon adding two points as his side exerted control around the middle third.

Barry Cushen top scored with eight points while goals from Fionn Daly and Jack Kennedy eased Scoil home by the final whistle.
