Mon, 30 June 2025

Naomh Olaf moved into top spot in Division 3 of the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League on Saturday afternoon as they eased past Scoil Uí Chonaill by 3-18 to 0-10 in Páirc Uí Bhriain.

With their promotion to Division 2 already in the bag, the Balally outfit moved two points clear of nearest challengers Commercials and the title will be decided when the two teams lock horns on the final day of the season.

The hosts were rarely troubled as they built up a healthy lead thanks to the goals of Conor Hoban, Eoin Foley and Lorcan Garvey.

Olaf’s kept in control of matters as the contest evolved thanks largely to the influential contributions of goalkeeper Mick O’Connor, Darragh Hickey, Ciaran Foley and Cian O’Connor.

At the opposite end of the table, Na Fianna kept their survival ambitions alive as they picked up their third win of the campaign when accounting for local rivals St Vincent’s by 3-14 to 0-10 at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn.

The foundation of their victory lay at the back with full-back Dualta Larkin and centre-back Eoin O’Sullivan especially effective for a Na Fianna team that pulled away from their opponents courtesy of two Paddy Skelly goals and another by the free-scoring Eoin Flaherty.

The remaining matches were far tighter as Lucan Sarsfields pipped O’Toole’s by 3-14 to 0-22 while Setanta and Round Towers Clondalkin shared the spoils following their 2-14 to 1-17 draw in Poppintree.

AHL3: O’Toole’s 0-22 Lucan Sarsfields 3-14; Setanta 2-14 Round Towers Clondalkin 1-17; St Vincent’s 0-10 Na Fianna 3-14; Naomh Olaf 3-18 Scoil Uí Chonaill 0-10; Cuala v Commercials OFF.

In AHL4, both Kilmacud Crokes and Crumlin finished their successful league campaigns on a high when registering comfortable home wins against Clanna Gael Fontenoy and Ballyboden St Enda’s respectively.

For Kilmacud, their 4-23 to 0-6 victory ensured they preserved their perfect record for the season as they picked up their eleventh successive win while Crumlin, who confirmed their promotion during the week, maintained that momentum when defeating Ballyboden St Enda’s by 3-19 to 1-10.

Meanwhile, Faughs, whose relegation had long since been decided, ended their difficult league season in a positive light as they accounted for St Maur’s by 2-25 to 2-21 in Rush.

The Tymon Park outfit collected their first point of the season when drawing with Skerries Harps on Tuesday night and they built on that display when overtaking St Maur’s on Saturday afternoon.

Eoin Brennan (1-5) and Ian Mitchell (1-3) were the scorers-in-chief for the visitors while Sean Fitzgerald was another to excel in their four-point win.
