ST BRIGID’S 0-15 SKERRIES HARPS 0-13
An injury-time point in normal time from Philly Ryan saw St Brigid's force this duel into extra-time before they eventually edged out Skerries Harps in this Dublin SFC second round tie at Chanel.
Points from former Dublin U21s Harry Dawson (free) and Jack Smith had given Skerries a two-point lead as the game ticked into it's final five minutes of normal time after the north county outfit had comeback from 0-5 to 0-7 in arrears at the interval.
However, the Russell Park man recovered the situation with late points from Lorcan McCarthy - a 57th minute free - before Ryan clipped a brilliant equaliser from a tight angle to snatch victory from Skerries' grasp, 0-11 each at the end of normal time.
Two frees from Leitrim senior Emyln Mulligan and a Paddy Andrews effort from play propelled Brigid's into a 0-14 to 0-11 advantage by half-time in extra-time.
Colin Lynch's score early on the restart pushed the lead out to four and it was enough of a cushion despite two late Donnacha Reilly points for Skerries - Brigid's advanced to face St Jude's in the quarter-finals.
