Con O'Callaghan to the fore as Cuala outclass Borris

CUALA 4-16 BORRIS-KILCOTTON (Laois) 1-14

Dublin senior footballer Con O’Callaghan showed his class with the small ball when he scored four goals in Cuala’s rout of Laois champions, Borris-Kilcotton, in Sunday’s AIB Leinster Club SHC quarter-final at Parnell Park.

Con scored an incredible 3-3 in the opening half as the Dalkey side made light work of their task to lead 3-11 to 0-6 at the interval.

Cuala progress to a semi-final against Carlow’s St Mullin's at Netwatch Cullen Park on Sunday, November 20.

The Carlow champions defeated out Raharney (Westmeath) by 2-14 to 1-11.

Con’s goals arrived in the eighth, tenth and 30th minute to put the game beyond the Laois side by the break.

Borris made a good start to the second half and outscored Cuala 0-4 to 0-2 in the ten minutes after half-time but were rocked back by O'Callaghan's fourth goal.

David Treacy amassed six points, five from frees, while Cian Waldron added four from play.
