Danny Sutcliffe will captain the Dublin senior hurlers in 2020.
The talented St Jude's clubman returned to action last Sunday week, when the Dubs lost narrowly to Galway in their Walsh Cup semi-final in Parnell Park.
Danny, who succeeds Chris Crummey as captain, came off the bench in the 60th minute to replace Mark Schutte and scored 0-1 after missing the earlier group victories over Westmeath, Carlow and Laois.
The 27-year-old St Jude's man was part of the Dublin team that captured the Leinster SHC title in 2013 and is one of only seven Dublin All Star hurlers, having been selected in 2013 as were Peter Kelly and Liam Rushe (who was winning his second award). In 2011 Danny won a Leinster U21HC title.
"We've full faith in Danny and we're looking forward to him leading us in 2020".
