DUBLIN CHAMPIONS BEGIN LEINSTER CAMPAIGNS!

FRESH from their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin championship final victories last weekend both Pobal Parnell and Raheny now must turn their attention to this Saturdays (Oct 11th) AIG Leinster club championship preliminary round fixtures.

Intermediate champions Pobal Parnell well welcome Louth champions St Fechins to the capital for their preliminary round tie. Chanel College, 2pm.

St Fechins dethroned reigning champions St Patricks in the Louth County final last Sunday and in doing so denied the champions a third in a row title. The challengers lead from start to finish and ran out worthy winners on a score line of 1-09 to 0-05.

Key players for St Fechins are Moya Corrigan, Rachel Beirth and Céire Nolan. Earlier this week Nolan was nominated for the TG4 Junior Players Player of the Year award having played a key role for Louth in their Junior All Ireland victory back over Antrim.

Dublin Junior champions Raheny will travel to Westmeath on Saturday for their AIB Leinster Championship preliminary round tie with Milltownpass. Eircode N91CTF6 throw in time 12.00 noon (Time change).

Milltownpass overcame Tyrrellspass in the Westmeath Junior final on the scoreline of 1-04 to 1-01 in game that was played in blustery wet conditions in Kinnegad. Key players for Milltownpass are Charlotte Butler Clyne and Orlagh O’Brien.

Full round of AIB Leinster club championship fixtures down for decision this Saturday, all games 2pm unless stated.
