Waterford vs Dublin (Live TG4)

Leinster Champions Dublin travel to the seaside town of Dungarvan this Sunday for their opening round game of the TG4 SFC All Ireland series versus Waterford.

Waterford will be hoping to bounce back from their devastating loss to Kerry in the Munster final. With two minutes to go Kerry took the lead for the very first time in the contest when Mary O’Connell pounced on a short Waterford kickout to score Kerry’s second goal. Kerry used all their experience to see out the final minutes of the game to register a 2-6 (12) to 0-10 (10) victory over the Déise.

Dublin having come out the right side of a titanic battle with Meath have made four changes to their starting team from that which began the Leinster final on May 11th.

Coming into the Dublin lineout are Niamh Crowley, Sinéad Goldrick, Carla Rowe and Kate Sullivan. Making way are Niamh Donlon, Grace Kós, Chloe Darby and Annabelle Timothy. The trio of Donlon, Darby and Timothy are all named in the Dublin match day squad.

Missing from the Dublin setup is Kilmacud Crokes star Grace Kós. The talented midfielder is now in Australia having linked up with her GWS Giants teammates for their AFLW preseason preparations.

Waterford have also lost the services of Kellyann Hogan for the remainder of their championship campaign. Hogan who was named the player of the match for her performance versus Kerry in the Munster final has also flown to Australia to begin preseason training with Collingwood AFLW.

Wexford official Barry Redmond who incidentally also took charge of the recent Leinster Final is the man in the middle for this latest Dublin vs Waterford encounter. Tickets for the game can be purchased from www.universe.com Supporters unable to make the trip to Dungarvan can watch the game live on TG4. Broadcast begins at 13:15pm.
