DUBS AMONGST NOMINEES FOR RTÉ SPORT TEAM OF THE YEAR.

Next Saturday night, the best teams in the land will battle it out for the title of RTÉ Sport Team of the Year.

Live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player from 8.05pm, Joanne Cantwell, Darragh Maloney and David Gillick will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2025.

Among the highlights of the evening is the team award. Who will succeed 2024 winners Katie-George Dunlevy and Kate Kelly?

Yesterday afternoon (Saturday Dec 13th) the shortlist was revealed on RTÉ Radio One's Saturday Sport.

The nominees are:

DUBLIN - WOMEN'S FOOTBALL

Dublin won their seventh All-Ireland senior title, defeating Meath in the final on a 2-16 to 0-10 score line. They also secured the Leinster Championship, beating Meath 2-13 to 1-12 in the final.

ATHLONE TOWN - SOCCER

The team achieved a historic double by winning both the league and the cup, and also had an extended run in European competition.

GALWAY - CAMOGIE

Galway defeated Cork in the final, with a score of 1-14 to 1-13, claiming their fifth ever All-Ireland senior title.

KATIE-GEORGE DUNLEVY AND LINDA KELLY - PARACYCLING

The reigning RTÉ Sport Team of the Year won two gold medals at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Ronse, Belgium.

KERRY - GAELIC FOOTBALL

Kerry football achieved a major clean sweep by winning the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Allianz Football League Division 1 title and the Munster Senior Football Championship

SHAMROCK ROVERS - SOCCER

Shamrock Rovers secured their 22nd top-flight title and their fifth in the last six seasons. They won their 26th FAI Cup title by defeating Cork City 2-0 in the final, which completed the historic double for the first time since 1987.

TIPPERARY - HURLING

Won the All-Ireland hurling title coming from a difficult season the year before. Went through Munster in third, then beat Galway, Kilkenny and Cork for an unlikely triumph.
