Episode 2 of The People of Parnell Park Goes Live
Wed, 7 October 2026

The second episode of The People of Parnell Park, in association with PTSB, goes live on Dublin GAA social channels and on Dubs TV this morning.

The People of Parnell Park is a new mini-series that celebrates the unsung heroes of our match days and over the coming weeks, Dublin GAA supporters and clubs will have the chance to see and appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes.

Produced with the support of PTSB, who sponsor the PTSB Dublin Leagues and Championships across all four codes, the mini-series started last week with Nora Leonard, and documented her work and fundraising activities for the St Francis Hospice and this week features another long-time volunteer, Malachy Keena.

Originally from Mullingar, Malachy has worked the scoreboard in Parnell Park since 1995 and he explained the magic of the match day and in particular his favourite memory from the recent Leinster Hurling Championship win over Kilkenny.

Speaking as part of the mini-series, Malachy said, “I’ve done it for 31 years now and I should be getting it right by now, for sure!”

Five episodes in total will screen over the weeks to come and can be seen across Dublin GAA socials and on Dubs TV.

Ken O’Sullivan, Chairperson of Dublin GAA said, “This mini-series has been a great success already. The first episode with Nora was a well-deserved celebration of all that she has contributed to Dublin GAA over the years and it is fitting that Malachy is the next person to be featured.

“Malachy goes about his business diligently and without fuss and has such a crucial role keeping us all updated as to the game playing out in front of our very eyes. To have done so for over 30 years is remarkable but it is people like Malachy, and countless others like him, that make the GAA in Dublin what it is.

“Like everyone else, I’m looking forward to the episodes ahead and hearing from Brigid Tolster, Sean Foran and Paddy Maloney over the coming weeks and we are hugely grateful to PSTB for their support of this project.”

The second episode of The People of Parnell Park goes live today at 11am, with a further three episodes to follow.
