Féile Festival of Camogie 2026: A Celebration of Sport and Spirit

Féile Festival of Camogie 2026: A Celebration of Sport and Spirit
Thu, 14 May 2026

The 2026 Dublin Camogie Féile weekend has come to a close, leaving behind a trail of incredible memories, new friendships, and a showcase of skill that proves the future of the game in Dublin is brighter than ever.

From the first whistle on Saturday morning to the final presentations at Abbotstown on Sunday, the capital was alive with the skill, passion, and camaraderie of our young players.

A Weekend of Incredible Scale

Across a sun-drenched weekend, 84 teams from 62 clubs took to the pitch. With over 1,750 players participating, the city was transformed into a festival of camogie that spanned 21 host venues and 11 competitive divisions.

A huge debt of gratitude is owed to our host clubs, whose meticulous organisation and warm hospitality turned every venue into a vibrant festival of sport. From the spectacle of the team parades to the much-appreciated refreshments provided for players and supporters alike, your efforts ensured a brilliant and welcoming occasion for everyone involved.

We also want to extend a sincere thank you to all the participating clubs, mentors, and families. Your dedication in preparing the teams and supporting the players' development was evident in every match, making this weekend an amazing showcase of Dublin Camogie that will live long in the memories of over 1,750 young players.

The group stages on Saturday served up a true camogie spectacle, with close games and nail-biting finishes requiring playoffs in several divisions to determine the final four.

Getting Féile started with the Parade

Growth and New Beginnings: New Clubs Join the Féile Tradition

We were especially proud to welcome clubs participating or hosting for the very first time, adding new energy to our established Féile traditions. Ranelagh Gaels and St Patricks Donabate were participating for the first time, a clear testament to the growth of camogie in their clubs, thanks to the dedication and commitment of their committees and volunteers. In addition, St Patricks Donabate, hosted the group games of Division 4 which was another huge highlight.

The Ethos of Féile: The Young Player Charter

Féile is about more than just results; it is defined by respect and friendship. This year, the Dublin Féile Organisers made the decision to have the Young Player Charter signed by captains at all 21 host venues on Saturday morning on behalf of their teammates.

This commitment to the "Féile Ethos" ensured that every puck of the ball was played in the right spirit. The "Respect" values of the GAA ensured that while the competition was fierce, the spirit remained rooted in participation and friendship.

Saturday’s Group Stages: Drama and Determination

Saturday served up a true camogie spectacle. From clubs participating for the first time to established veterans of the competition, the group games were defined by nail-biting finishes and intense playoffs to determine semi-final spots.

The weekend was made possible by the dedication of over 50 referees, who were there not just to officiate, but to support the young players in their development.
