Club of the Month:

The FODHC club of the month for April is Wanderers GAA Ballyboden, at the base of the Dublin mountains!

Wanderers were founded in 1910 & the club played their first ever game versus Clanna Gael Fontenoy at Scoil Eanna.

The club then went through some changes in the following years until finally reforming in 1980 as 'Wanderers GAA Ballyboden'

Teams: We have one adult hurling team, two men's football teams and a  ladies football team.

We have five girls teams and four boys teams currently at juvenile level, as well as our nursery with kids from age 4-6.

Schools: We support both Scoil Mhuire Whitechurch and Edmondstown NS on a weekly basis with GAA coaching.

We don't currently have a secondary school where we coach but we are very open to the idea.

We have a full time GPO offering coaching support to our juvenile teams as well as co-ordinating our nursery and attending the above schools weekly.  We also host numerous coaches sessions during the year which are run by our GPO.

Recruitment: Recruiting players is an ongoing challenge we face with kids involved in some many activities and their being numerous clubs in our area!

Future: With development works about to start in Frank Kelly Park and strong teams at younger ages we feel the future is bright in the Dublin mountains!

Our u8 girls took a trip to Belfast last year which was a great success and a source of huge excitement amongst the girls!
