Round Towers Clondalkin continue to climb the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 table following their 2-19 to 1-17 victory over Lucan Sarsfields at the 12th Lock on Tuesday evening.

Craig Doherty was in inspired form at wing-forward for the visitors as he scored ten points in total, seven of which came from open play.

He received valuable support in the scoring stakes from both Eric Finn (1-4) and the excellent Cian O’Rourke (1-3), with the latter taking his goal tally for the year to twelve, having netted in every league game to date.

Towers captain Gary Quinlivan was his usual assured self in defence and with Liam O’Connor and Adam Doyle also impressing, the visitors kept on the front foot through their midfield pairing of Alex Darby and Senan Walsh.

In The Bogies, Naomh Fionnbarra also kept up the pressure on the leaders as they got the better of an understrength Setanta by 0-22 to 0-14.

The free-taking of Tommy O’Neill (0-8) kept the home scoreboard ticking over and with Eamonn Dillon chipping in with five points, the Barrs finished strongly with both Dylan Curley and Aaron Costello catching the eye in their half-back line.

There are joint leaders in the table as Naomh Olaf drew with Bray Emmets, allowing Commercials to share the lead following their 3-19 to 1-15 home win against O’Toole’s.

AHL3: Naomh Olaf 2-16 Bray Emmets 2-16; Scoil Uí Chonaill 0-9 St Vincent’s 1-14; Commercials 3-29 O’Toole’s 1-15; Naomh Fionnbarra 0-22 Setanta 0-14; Lucan Sarsfields 1-17 Round Towers Clondalkin 2-19; Cuala 1-12 Na Fianna 3-12.

In AHL4, leaders Kilmacud Crokes continue to look well set for league honours as they enjoyed a comfortable 2-21 to 1-11 win against Faughs in Tymon Park.

The foundation for their victory lay in defence with James Dunphy hugely influential for Crokes and he received strong support at the back from the likes of Marty Connors and James Ryan.

With the sides deadlocked at 0-7 apiece at the break, the visitors began to control matters through Finian Donoghue and Andy Cullinane, allowing free-taker Mick Donnelly to build a healthy lead.

That advantage was enhanced courtesy of a Dan Toomey goal as Kilmacud pulled away by the final whistle through further points by Eamonn Allen, Finn Walsh and Brendan Horgan.

The race for promotion spots is hotting up nicely as St Peregrine’s did themselves little harm as they accounted for Kevins by 2-16 to 1-16 at Blakestown Road.

While the visitors impressed initially, St Peregrine’s gained a foothold through Mark Sweeney’s goal from an Adam O’Connor pass and a superb solo goal by Isaac Quinlan pushed them five points clear by the interval.

Kevins responded well to these setbacks to remain in contention but Caelum Moriarty continued to keep the home tally moving while the defensive solidity of Eoin Gleeson and Shane Sweeney helped keep their narrow lead.

Oran McEvoy worked tirelessly to preserve that advantage and they claimed the vital win through late points by Quinlan, Mark Sweeney and Moriarty.

AHL4: Ballyboden St Enda’s 0-17 St Jude’s 1-14; Clanna Gael Fontenoy 2-8 Castleknock 1-13; Faughs 1-11 Kilmacud Crokes 2-21; Skerries Harps 3-17 Crumlin 5-14; St Maur’s 1-15 Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels 0-18; St Peregrine’s 2-16 Kevins 1-16.
