Go Ahead Ireland Dublin LGFA Championship Semi Finals 2025
By Patricia MonahanWed, 24 September 2025

Go-Ahead Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior club championship semi-finals take place this evening in several venues across the County. At stake is a coveted place in the 2025 Dublin County finals.

Venue: Abbotstown - Pitch 5, 19:30

Reigning senior champions Kilmacud Crokes will put their title on the line against Thomas Davis this evening in what will be a repeat of the 2022 County final. Crokes have had an nervy journey to the semi-final stage having defeated both Na Fianna and Clontarf in the early rounds of the competition. They then hit a drop in form when they drew their third-round game with Castleknock then followed up that result with a single point victory over Cuala in their final group game.

Kilmacud Crokes are of course without the services of several key players this season including Lauren Magee, Grace Kós, Mollie Lamb and Mia Jennings. They still have an abundance of talent and experience within their squad to reach their fourth consecutive county final but will have to hit top form to overcome a resilient Thomas Davis outfit. Key players for the champions this evening will be Michelle Davoren, Niamh Cotter, Aoife Kane, Ailbhe Davoren and Éabha Rutledge.

Thomas Davis finished the group stage of the competition in second place behind St Sylvesters. The Tallaght girls registered victories over O’Dwyers, Ballyboden St Endas and Fingallians to book their place in the semi-final having lost to group leaders St Sylvesters by just four points.

Thomas Davis are a team who thrive on knock out football and have traditionally caused Kilmacud Crokes issues over the years with their robust style of play. Key players for Thomas Davis will be Olwen Carey, the evergreen Siobhan McGrath with Tammy Quinn and Kerri Owens also highly influential for the Kiltipper Road based club.

Venue: Abbotstown - Pitch 1, 19:30

St Sylvesters come into tonight’s semi-final as the only team to register four victories in the group stages of the competition. They are also hell bent on revenging last year’s senior final defeat to Kilmacud Crokes. Having recorded victories over Thomas Davis, Fingallians, Ballyboden St Endas and O’Dwyers the Malahide club are many pundits favourites to land a historic first senior championship title.

No question St Sylvesters are a well-balanced side who have a nice combination of youth and experience throughout their squad. Danielle Lawless and Chloe Bryan are solid defenders while the trio of Ellie Doyle, Nicole Owens and Clodagh Fox have been performing very well throughout the championship.

Up front Kate Sullivan, Sinéad Aherne and Marian Hernon are potent forwards who have the ability and firepower to cause untold damage to any back line in the Country.

No question Clontarf will come into the semi-final as underdogs. The fact there is no pressure on them just might well suit a team who certainly have the ability to cause a shock. They too have a nice blend of experience and youth amongst their ranks. The absence of Caoimhe O’Connor (injury) from their forward line is a huge blow to Clontarf.

They advanced to the semi-final having registered victories over Castleknock and Na Fianna while earning a draw with Cuala. Their only defeat was at the hands of Kilmacud Crokes. If Clontarf are to cause an upset this evening defenders Hannah Leahy, Tara and Kate Fitzgibbon will have to hit top form. Ellen Leddy Doyle, Sarah McCaffrey along with Times Kovacs and Niamh Hetherton all have the potential and skill set to make life difficult for St Sylvesters.

Dublin LGFA will have score updates from both senior finals available on their social media accounts with match reports and images to follow on. The Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin senior club championship final will take place on Friday October 3rd at 7.30pm in Parnell Park. The final will be streamed live FOC on our social media channels.
