Dublin’s John Horan will be the next president of the GAA following his election on Friday night at Congress.

The Na Fianna clubman enjoyed a landslide victory and was elected on the first count after getting a massive 144 first preferences.

Galway’s Frank Burke and Kerry’s Seán Walsh were tied second on 46, followed by Longford’s Martin Skelly (22) and Clare’s Robert Frost (20).

John will serve as president-elect until February 2018, when he will succeed Aogán Ó Fearghail.
