Dublin champions Raheny travelled to the midlands earlier today (Saturday October 11th) for their AIB Leinster club championship preliminary round meeting with Milltownpass of Westmeath.

The newly crowned Dublin champions enjoyed a dominant first half performance which saw them take a commanding sixteen-point lead into the half time dressing room. Half time Raheny 3-11 (20) Milltownpass 0-04 (4).

The gap between the two teams proved to be too high a mountain for the home team to climb with Raheny running out comfortable winners on a score line of 5-16 (31) to 1-08 (11).

Raheny will now play Longford Junior champions Dromard in the AIB Leinster JFC quarter finals on Saturday October 18th. The rescheduled Longford final was played earlier today (Saturday October 11th) with Dromard defeating Ballymahon / Forgney by 2-12 to2-04 to set up their quarter final meeting with Raheny.

Dublin Intermediate champions Pobal Parnell exited the Leinster championship following their 1-10 to 0-10 defeat to Louth champion St Fechins.

The decisive score came in the 20th minute of the first half when Louth County player, Moya Corrigan rattled the back of the net. Three points separated the sides at the half time interval and the same margin was the difference between the two teams at the final whistle.
