Dublin co manager Paul Casey is calling upon all Dublin football fans to make the trip to Parnell Park (7.30pm) this coming Saturday evening to support his side in their TG4 All Ireland quarter final versus old rivals Cork.
“We have been fortunate this season to have played a few of our games at Parnell Park. It is a tight venue, you can really hear the encouragement from the stands especially in those key moments during a game when players maybe need that extra lift”.
“The support at our games all year has been tremendous. The half seven start time on Saturday I hope will encourage more football fans to come along to Parnell Park and get behind the girls as they aim to reach the All-Ireland semi-final versus either Kerry or Meath”.
Cork, who are the reigning NFL Div 1 league champions, looked set to bow out of the championship in round two when they trailed Waterford by five points with seven minutes remaining, but they staged a remarkable comeback to snatch victory at the death.
Waterford’s subsequent loss to Armagh secured Cork’s place in the final eight.
Dublin and Cork encounters over the years have thrown up several fierce contests this Saturdays latest meeting between these great rivals has all the makings of another epic encounter one that should not be missed.
