All Ireland U14 Platinum Series – Quarter Final

The Dublin U14’s bowed out of the All-Ireland series earlier today following their 1-09 to 1-01 defeat at the hands of Galway in the All-Ireland quarter final.

In a low scoring first half Dublin lead at the break by 1-00 to Galway’s 0-01. The second half did not go the way of the young Dubs as they failed to breakdown the Galway defensive set up. The westerners on the other hand where able to keep the scoreboard ticking over to registrar a memorable win over the reigning Leinster champions.

Elsewhere in the platinum competition Leinster runners up Meath defeated Mayo by 3-15 to 2-10. Armagh got the better of Tyrone by 5-11 to 0-11 while Cork had a 1-09 to 1-02 win over Limerick.

All Ireland U20 Championship Rd 2

In another low scoring game Cork emerged victorious over Dublin in their second-round U20 championship encounter played at Cloughduv GAA club. The rebels lead at half time by 1-04 to 0-02 the visitors were guilty of squandering a couple of frees while also conceding a somewhat soft goal.

While Dublin raised their performance in the second period they could not reduce the deficit with Cork holding on to a slender lead to run out winners by 1-06 (9) to Dublin’s 0-07 (7).

Elsewhere in the competition Galway made it two wins from two games with a 1-16 to 1-08 victory over Mayo.

Dublin will regroup now for the visit of the Tribeswomen to the capital on Sunday May 31st. This game will be played at the GAA National Development Centre located at Abbottstown, throw in time 2pm.
