AHEAD of Fridays senior final showdown rivals Michelle Davoren (Kilmacud Crokes) and Kate Fitzgibbon (Clontarf) recently attended a media event in association with competition sponsor PTSB Ireland.
Having dominated the domestic scene for the last number of seasons Michelle Davoren and her Kilmacud Crokes teammates are vying for their fifth senior championship title in a row whereas their opponents Clontarf are making their senior final debut. Clontarf won the Intermediate All Ireland crown back in 2018 and have taken time to adjust to life at senior level.
Clontarf narrowly lost out on qualifying for the 2025 decider when they were pipped by St Sylvesters in the SFC semi-final a game that went to extra time. This year they made no mistake chalking up a five point victory over Sylvesters to set up a Friday night showdown with the reigning champions.
Team captain Kate Fitzgibbon was part of the 2018 All Ireland winning squad and she along with her sister Tara are relishing the opportunity to add a senior championship medal to their collection.
