LGFA - Countdown continues to Fridays PTSB Senior Final

LGFA - Countdown continues to Fridays PTSB Senior Final
By Patricia MonahanTue, 29 September 2026

The countdown to this Fridays PTSB Senior club championship final continues. Both Michelle Davoren (Kilmacud Crokes) and Kate Fitzgibbon (Clontarf) are looking forward to what many envisage to be a highly entertaining contest between two evenly matched teams.

Reigning championship Kilmacud Crokes will come into the final with a wealth of experience behind them. The Stillorgan based club are vying for the fifth senior championship title in a row. Paddy O’Donoghues chargers have been the standard bearers not only within Dublin but also at provincial level over the last few seasons.

Clontarf on the other hand will be making their senior final debut. Having captured the Intermediate All Ireland title back in 2018 they took time settling into senior football. Having narrowly been beaten after extra time in the 2025 semi-final by St Sylvesters Collie O’Connor’s side made sure that history did not repeat itself by seeing off a strong St Sylvesters outfit by five points to secure their place in the 2026 senior decider.

Kilmacud Crokes will be favourites to retain their title but Clontarf will come into Fridays encounter buoyed by their 4th round group game victory over Crokes. Can Clontarf cause an upset or will the Champions march on into Leinster. Only time will tell.
