LGFA - Dubs welcome Donegal to Parnell Park this Sat June 13th

Dublin LGFA is encouraging all clubs to get behind the girls in blue this coming Saturday as they take on Donegal in the second round of the TG4 All Ireland series.

Children under 12 years of age go free and do not require a ticket.

A win over Donegal will guarantee the Dubs a place in the All-Ireland quarter finals.

The two sides last meet in championship fare back in 2023 in the TG4 All Ireland quarter finals. On that occasion Dublin ran out comfortable winners by 3-12 to 0-06. However, the result was different 12 months previously.

In 2022 Donegal stunned Dublin with two late goals to send Mick Bohans team crashing out of the championship at the quarter final stage. With that defeat still fresh in people’s minds, Dublin’s management team and players will be fully aware of the threat posed by Donegal as they prepare for Saturday’s contest in Parnell Park.

Donegal who are managed by the vastly experienced James Daly had a disappointing Ulster provincial campaign having come into the championship bolstered by their NFL division 2 league final win over Cavan. Donegal registered a 1-04 to 0-10 loss to Armagh which was followed up by a 4-10 to 2-07 defeat to Tyrone.

Having not played competitive football since the 3rd of May last, Donegal will come into Saturday’s clash with Dublin refreshed, regrouped, and well prepared for this key encounter. Key players for Donegal and ones to watch will be Tara Hegarty, Evelyn McGinley, Feena McManamon, Róisín Rodgers, Katie Dowds and Suanne White.

Monaghan referee Anthony Marren will be the man in charge of this latest encounter between Dubin and Donegal. It has all the makings of an epic encounter and one not to be missed.
