Leinster MFC 2026 - Let the games begin!

The Leinster Minor championship gets underway this weekend. Defending champions Dublin travel to Skryne GFC on Saturday (Feb 28th) to renew their great rivalry with Meath. Throw in time 2pm.

Over the years both Counties have served up tight entertaining contests. Dublin accounted for the Royals at the same stage of the competition last season on route to claiming the Leinster A minor title following an epic final encounter with Kildare in Baltinglass.

Dublin went on to overcome a very strong Galway side in the All-Ireland semi-final before narrowly losing out to Cork in the final. The sides only defeat in 2025.

This season the minor squad once more come under the direction and leadership of Declan Patton alongside his management team of Pat Kane, Amanda Donnelly, Eoin Lysaght, Aisling Kane, Deirdre Murphy and Paula Jackson.

Niamh McKernan sister of Tyrone All Ireland winner Michael who is a member of Clanna Gael Fontenoy has joined the management set up in 2026.

Sophie McDonnell from Naomh Mearnóg will captain the minor squad in 2026 with Laoise Murtagh from St Maurs named as vice-captain.

This is the second season of minor county football for both players.
