Mary O'Connor (RIP)

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved County Secretary Mary O’Connor.

A member of St Brigid’s GAA club, Mary first became involved with Dublin LGFA as a club delegate before taking on the role of fixtures secretary in 2011. This was a role she thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at.

In 2013, Mary stepped into the position of County Secretary. She served Dublin in this position for thirteen years indeed continuing to carry out her duties up until early March of this year.

In 2024, Mary was honoured for her distinguished service to Ladies Football when she received the President’s Award (Gradaim an Uachtaráin).

All in Dublin LGFA are so grateful to Mary for her huge contribution to our sport but more importantly for her friendship and kindness.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband James (Jim), daughter Helen, son Kevin, son in law Dan, her Grandson Dylan, siblings Gerard, Margaret and Joan, predeceased by her sister Carol.

To all her many friends and to the members of St Brigid’s GAA club we offer our sincere condolences.
