PTSB Senior Championship Semi Finals previews

PTSB SFC Semi-finals:
Ballyboden St Endas v Kilmacud Crokes, Ref: Ronald Malone, Venue: Sancta Maria School, 19:30pm.
Reigning champions Kilmacud Crokes suffered a home shock fourteen-point defeat to Clontarf in round four. That loss placed Crokes in second spot on the group A championship table one place behind their conquerors Clontarf. Paddy O’Donoghues chargers who are chasing five in a row of championship titles now face an away semi-final clash with group B table toppers Ballyboden St Endas.
Ballyboden St Endas last contested a senior county final back in 2017 on that occasion they lost out to then reigning champions Foxrock Cabinteely. Can the ten times champions of Dublin dethrone the reigning champions Kilmacud Crokes and book their place in the final on October 2nd next – an intriguing contest awaits.

Clontarf v St Sylvesters, Ref: Jason Buckley, Venue: St Annes No 34, 20:00.
Clontarf to date have been the inform team of the championship not only winning all their group games but doing so comprehensively. Clontarf have chalked up an impressive 17-67 on route to the semi-final while only conceding 3-42. Their semi-final opponents St Sylvesters have within their rank’s several high calibre forwards such as Sinéad Aherne, Kate Sullivan, and Nicole Owens while Tipperary Inter County duo Anna Rose Kennedy and Angela McGuigan bring huge experience to their squad.
It took a period of extra time to separate these two teams when they meet in last years semi-final. St Sylvesters upped their work rate in extra time to claim a 3-18 (27) to 2-17 (23) victory. Will the memory of that extra time defeat provide Clontarf with additional motivation to reach their first ever senior championship final or can St Sylvesters book their place in the final for a third year in row. This is a contest not to be missed!
