Waterford vs Dublin

Dungarvan GAA Club, Waterford (Live TG4)

Dublin have made one change to their starting team from that which began against Meath last Monday. Aoibh Doyle comes into the first fifteen replacing Gemma Connolly.

Waterford are currently top of the division one table having registered victories over Armagh and Kerry. Dublin on the other hand have endured two defeats in a row having lost to both Kerry and Meath.

One has to acknowledge that managers Derek Murray and Paul Casey have handed over a dozen players their senior County debuts during the course of the opening two rounds of the NFL, probably the highest number of debuts by any County competing in division one.

“You always want to win every game you play,” said Derek Murray following his sides recent loss to Meath. We said at the start of the year we needed to find new talent and we need to give these girls opportunities to play. There’ll be huge learnings for them.

We have a large panel out with us at the moment. You are trying to give the girls opportunities. They are training just as hard as anyone else. It’s nice to give players the chance to represent Dublin and to put on a Dublin jersey”.

Experience match referee Jonathan Murphy will take charge of this encounter which is live on TG4 from 2.30pm.
