STATE OF PLAY – Reigning All Ireland champions Dublin have secured their place in the TG4 SFC quarter finals following their win over Donegal last Saturday.

Dublin are on top of the Group 3 table, with two wins from two outings having previously defeated Mayo in round one of the TG4 SFC group series.

Similarly, both Galway (Group 4) and Kerry (Group 1) have also booked their place in the quarter finals with two championship wins apiece, topping their respective groups.

This coming weekend the final third round games will determine who joins Dublin, Galway and Kerry in the draw for the 2026 quarter finals.

Armagh are the only County of the eight teams in action this coming weekend who have a win under their belts to date.

Gregory McGonigles side defeated Cork in round one while their opponents Waterford suffered a shock defeat to Cork last Saturday. Cork had trailed Waterford by five points with seven minutes remaining, but the rebels staged a remarkable comeback to snatch a one-point victory at the death.

The quarter-finals will involve a draw, with the first placed teams in each group drawn against the second placed teams in each group. The first-place teams will receive home advantage. Just to note first placed teams cannot be drawn against the second placed team from their same group, so Dublin cannot get Mayo or Donegal.

The QF draw will take place after this weekend’s match between Armagh and Waterford, live on TG4.

This weeks TG4 SFC Rd 3 fixtures:

Group 1: Armagh vs Waterford

Group 2: Tipperary vs Kildare

Group 3: Donegal vs Mayo

Group 4: Tyrone vs Meath

The QF draw will take place after this weekend’s match between Armagh and Waterford, live on TG4.
