LUCAN SARSFIELDS 2-15 BALLYBODEN ST ENDA’S 0-16
Lucan held out in the face of a late Ballyboden fightback to emerge victorious in this Dublin SHC quarter-final at O’Toole Park on Sunday afternoon.
A strong opening 20 minutes by Sarsfields had them eight points to the good entering the last ten minutes before St Enda’s lifted their game significantly.
The sides were level 1-6 to 0-9 at the half-time break, Lucan having got the dream start in the second minute when Matt McCaffrey found the net.
Conor Dooley kept the scoreboard ticking for Boden with four successful frees.
Lucan’s pressure in the third quarter resulted in a CJ Smith goal following a long delivery from Ciarán Dowling and their side looked poised to cruise into the semi-finals.
However, Boden had other ideas and four points from sub Paul Ryan cut into the deficit but they had left it too late as Lucan progress to face Kilmacud Crokes in their last-four encounter.
