Minor footballers on their bikes for fundraising challenge

Minor footballers on their bikes for fundraising challenge

Tue, 20th April 2021

The 2021 Dublin minor football panel and management are taking part in a fundraising cycle for the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA) this weekend.

The ambition of the under-17 players and management is to cycle a combined distance equal to the perimeter of Ireland (3171km) this coming Sunday.

Recently retired Dublin footballer Michael Darragh Macauley is an ambassador for the ILFA.

Each member of the panel and management has been set the challenge of individually covering 50km on their bike with their endeavours tracked on the Strava app.

You can show your support by sponsoring their 'Pedal The Perimeter of Ireland for the ILFA' initiative on their gofundme page.

Note:

The Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA) is the national patient organisation for lung fibrosis.

ILFA supports patients and families living with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and provides education and support to respiratory healthcare professionals.

The word 'Idiopathic' means unknown thus the cause of IPF has not been identified. Approximately 400 patients in Ireland are diagnosed with IPF every year.
