St Vincent’s manager Tommy Conroy knows his men will have to produce a top-drawer display in tonight’s Dublin SFC final if they are to retain the Clery Cup.

The Marino side, who are reigning Dublin, Leinster and All-Ireland champions, face a St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh side in Parnell Park (7.45) who have toppled fancied sides like Kilmacud Crokes, Ballymun Kickhams and St Jude’s en route.

“Plunkett’s are a terrific side,” says Tommy. “I watched some of their semi-final. It will be big test.

“It will be a difficult system to play against, but we have had a few days to look at things, so we’ll see what we can do.”

Reflecting on his side’s semi-final win over Ballyboden St Enda’s the Vincent’s boss says: “Physically, it was very demanding game for both teams. There were some big hits going in.

“But we knew Boden would be tough opposition, and, in the end, the scoreline didn’t do them justice.”
