Quarter-final spots up for grabs in SFC1

Quarter-final spots up for grabs in SFC1

Tue, 11th September 2018

The 2018 Dublin SFC1 emerges from its summer break this weekend with quarter-final berths still up for contention.

In Group 1 Kilmacud Crokes are out in front with two wins from two starts. They are expected to line out without Cian O'Sullivan after he strained a hamstring in the All-Ireland SFC final for their meeting with Raheny in Innisfails (Balgrffin) on Friday night (7.30).

It is still all to play for in this group as Raheny have two points following their victory over St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh.

Ballyboden St Enda’s face Plunkett's in Parnell Park also on Friday night (7.30) and while Plunkett's were beaten in both their opening games a victory against Boden could get them back into contention.

In the event of three clubs finishing the group section on the same league points the scoring difference from the games including the clubs who are joint on league points only comes into the reckoning.

In Group 2 reigning champions St Vincent's have already booked their spot in the last-eight following victories over Na Fianna and Skerries Harps and face Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday in O'Toole Park (5.30). Na Fianna play Skerries in Parnell Park on Saturday (5.30).

Group 3 is already decided with St Jude's and St Sylvester's are through to the quarter-finals. They meet each other in Parnell Park on Sunday (1.45). The draw for the quarter-finals is an open draw so the result will just decide who finishes the group stage in top spot. Ballinteer St John's and Parnell's complete the group when they collide on Sunday in O'Toole Park (2.15).

In Group 4 beaten finalists of last year, Ballymun Kickhams, and Castleknock have guaranteed themselves quarter-final spots with victories over Clontarf and St Brigid's.

The Mun and Castleknock meet on Sunday in Parnell Park (12.0) with Brigid's facing Clontarf in O'Toole Park (12.15).
