Na Fianna moved into joint top spot in Division 3 of the Dublin Adult Football League as they got the better of Clontarf by 3-16 to 2-10 in Dardistown on Tuesday night.

The hosts were well served over the hour by Peter Smith and Hugh Caffrey in defence while Eoin Connolly delivered an influential display around the middle third.

The likes of Ben O’Connell and Sean Hayes kept the home scoreboard ticking over with substitutes Brian Fox and Tomo Connell plundering crucial goals in the second-half.

Na Fianna share the lead with a Ballyboden St Enda’s side that drew with Cuala in a thrilling encounter at Hyde Park.

Elsewhere, St Margaret’s, Round Towers Clondalkin and Ballyboughal all did their promotion chances no harm with wins over Clann Mhuire, Pobal Parnell and Castleknock respectively.

Naomh Fionnbarra are right in the mix following their narrow 0-17 to 0-14 win over Trinity Gaels in the Bogies.

Jordan Fitzsimons excelled once again in the pivotal position of full-back and with goalkeeper Lennon Dalton rock solid between the sticks, they built up a winning tally through centre-forward Glen Dodrill and corner-forward Carl Turner.

The local derby between Thomas Davis and St Anne’s at Kiltipper Road proved a one-sided affair as the visitors eased home by 4-14 to 0-5.

AFL3 RESULTS: O’Dwyer’s 1-8 St Sylvester’s 1-11; Cuala 4-8 Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-14; Thomas Davis 0-5 St Anne’s 4-14; Round Towers Clondalkin 1-13 Pobal Parnell 1-10; Clann Mhuire 2-11 St Margaret’s 2-15; Naomh Fionnbarra 0-17 Trinity Gaels 0-14; Na Fianna 3-16 Clontarf 2-10; Castleknock 3-11 Ballyboughal 3-14.

In AFL4, St Peregrine’s registered a crucial win in the bottom half of the table as they edged Whitehall Colmcille by 3-10 to 1-14 in Cloghran.

Both teams enjoyed pockets of control with the visitors well served at the back throughout by both James Callaghan and Peter Dunne.

At the opposite end of the field, goals from Sam Enright and Caelum Moriarty ensured St Peregrine’s kept in contention and the latter made sure of their victory with a fisted effort in added time.

With the top four teams in the table all drawing, Man O’War made ground on the leaders with a hard-earned 0-17 to 2-6 home victory against St Pat’s Donabate.

The bulk of their scoring came courtesy of Daniel Moore, Conor Dolan and the impressive Sean Hussey with Oisín O’Mahoney and Cillian O’Mahoney more than playing their part in their five-point win.

In Clonshaugh, St Vincent’s impressed in defence on their way to a 3-8 to 1-10 victory over previous leaders Craobh Chiaráin.

The precise restarts of goalkeeper Seamus McGovern was the source of many of the away attacks with full-back Ben Quigley also excelling in his duties.

Vinnies improved significantly after the break and claimed the two points with Andrew Gilroy and Daniel Peel doing most of the damage up front.
