Division 3 in the Dublin Adult Hurling League remains hugely competitive with Round Towers Clondalkin taking over top spot as they edged Crumlin by 6-14 to 5-14 on Tuesday night.
A goal by Eric Finn kept the hosts in contention in the first-half and the introduction of substitute Adam Doyle turned the tide after the break as he scored three goals while Alex O’Neill and Finn also raised green flags in their thrilling win.
That victory saw them overtake leaders Cuala, who succumbed by 0-22 to 1-11 at home to Bray Emmets while Lucan Sarsfields also lost ground in the promotion race as they lost to Kilmacud Crokes (1) by 2-26 to 3-16 in Silver Park.
Whitehall Colmcille are right in the mix as they proved too strong for 14-man Setanta, winning by 3-26 to 1-12 in Collins Avenue.
The hosts led by 1-11 to 0-7 at the break with Conor Sheedy finding the net after excellent approach play by Enda O’Donnell and the Setanta cause wasn’t helped by a first-half dismissal and an injury to Ryan Clarke.
Fionntán MacGib’s penalty offered them a degree of momentum but with Paddy Spellacy scoring 0-11, Colmcille added gloss to the final scoreline as Sheedy bagged two further goals to complete his hat-trick.
St Vincent’s picked up their first win in three matches as they got the better of Kilmacud Crokes (2) by 6-20 to 0-19 in Silver Park.
As the scoreline would suggest, the ability of the visitors to find the net proved the difference on the night with Eoghan O’Neill and John Walsh netting twice for the Marino outfit.
Alan Moore kept the away scoreboard ticking over with some cracking points as Vinnies eased home through further goals from Simon Gormley and Bobby Peel.

In AHL4, Kevins cemented their mid-table position as they made the short but fruitful journey to Tymon Park, overcoming St Jude’s by 2-26 to 2-13.
The final scoreline was slightly harsh on the youthful hosts, who impressed for the large part but undermined some positive approach play with some wasteful shooting over the hour.
The visitors, in contrast, were far more economical with four David Reid scores and three Adam Mitchell points building a narrow 0-13 to 2-5 interval lead.
Kevins began to exert their dominance upon the restart as they pulled away with full-forward Jamie Tracey catching the eye with a personal tally of 1-3.
Elsewhere, Na Fianna preserved their perfect record as they accounted for Skerries Harps by 2-22 to 2-8 while both Clanna Gael Fontenoy and Castleknock kept up their promotion charge with home wins over Raheny and St Peregrine’s respectively.
