Cuala registered their second successive win in Division 3 of the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League as they pipped St Vincent’s by 3-16 to 3-15 in Bray on Sunday morning.
The hosts led by 1-11 to 0-6 at half-time with Eoin O’Carroll and Liam Ryan shining in their defence while Adam Sheerin was a pivotal figure around the middle third.
However, their efforts failed to prevent Vinnies from staging a second-half comeback as the visitors edged three points clear before Joseph McDonough plundered 1-1 late on at the opposite end to clinch the narrow win.
Matters were far more comfortable for Round Towers Clondalkin, who recorded their first win of the campaign when overcoming Setanta by 5-12 to 0-8 at Monastery Road.
Despite playing against the elements initially, Towers settled well through early points by Craig Doherty and Cillian Downey and a goal from Alex O’Neill pushed them six points clear by the break.
The hosts continued to dominate upon the restart with Stephen Barry and captain Gary Quinlivan excelling in defence and with Dáithí Billings and Harry Kelly to the fore, they made certain of the win through 1-1 by substitute Sam Mulvaney and an O’Neill penalty.
Cuala are joined at the summit of the table by a Kilmacud Crokes (1) outfit that picked up their second win on the bounce when beating Naomh Fionnbarra by 0-21 to 1-14 in Silver Park.
Elsewhere, Lucan Sarsfields and Crumlin remain unbeaten as they played out an entertaining 0-19 to 1-16 draw in Airlie Park.

In AHL4, Clanna Gael Fontenoy maintained their perfect start to date as they impressed after the break en route to a 1-16 to 1-11 victory against Lucan Sarsfields at the 12th Lock.
The foundation for their victory lay at the back through the solid displays of full-back Colm Kirby O’Brien and corner-back Brian Barron while Karl Morgan played a captain’s role with a storming performance at centrefield.
A goal from substitute Cian Tuohy was just reward for Clanna Gael’s character throughout with Emmett Lane another pivotal figure over the hour for the visitors.
The Ringsend outfit share top spot in the table alongside both St Peregrine’s and Na Fianna, who enjoyed comfortable wins against Ballyboden St Enda’s and Castleknock respectively.
Elsewhere, O’Toole’s got up and running after their Round 1 match was called off as they defeated Raheny by 2-15 to 0-11 at Blunden Drive.
Con Rock proved their scorer-in-chief as he amassed 2-4 in total while the lively Scott Walker was another player to impress as he chipped in with six points.
The likes of Richie Walker, Paddy Smith, Dáithí Concarr and Paddy O’Loughlin kept the Larriers on the front foot and they eased home through further scores by Aaron Cooling, Concarr, Ryan Rooney and Joe Hoey.
In UCD, Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels dominated from the outset as they eased past St Jude’s by 1-23 to 0-13 in Belfield.
Luke Thomas was an assured presence in the home goal and their dominance was reflected in influential performances throughout by Josh O’Brien, Adam Skelly, Fiach Lupton, Sean O’Callaghan, Adam Quinn and Brian Mahon.
