ROUND-UP: Go Ahead Adult Hurling League Division 3/4- 26th March

Tue, 28th March 2023

Fingallians bounced back from their defeat to Naomh Mearnóg a fortnight previously when easing past Cuala by 3-23 to 0-8 in their Go Ahead Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 clash at Lawless Park on Sunday morning.

Donagh Williams led the way in terms of scores with an impressive 1-10 with Cillian Johnson also looking sharp as he accrued 1-6 over the hour.

Derek Rodgers added three points for the hosts, who kept on the front foot through hugely influential display by Eoin Howard and Gavin Howard.

Fins remain two points behind league leaders Bray Emmets, who remain unbeaten following their 1-14 to 0-10 victory over Crumlin at Pearse Park.

Michael Boland proved their match-winner once again as he struck 0-11 (10f) with the remainder of the scores coming through Cillian Ryder (1-0), Rory Lambe (0-2) and Ronan McMahon 0-1.

The visitors racked up sixteen wides but were full value for their win with Cian Lohan, James Anders, Andy Conway and Marc Lennon to the fore throughout.

On Saturday evening, Kilmacud Crokes enjoyed their first win of the campaign as they pipped Commercials by 2-17 to 1-18.

Cormac Keys marshalled the Crokes defence superbly and with David Lucey and Ciaran Donovan making their adult debuts, Kilmacud held on with their half-forward line of Conor Hayes, Conor Hughes and Alex Hatt particularly prominent.

In Division 4, Kevins moved up the table when finishing strongly to defeat a battling Skerries Harps by 2-16 to 0-14 at Dolphin Park.

There was little to separate the teams in a tight opening-half but a goal from Karl McKenzie edged the hosts four points clear (1-7 to 0-6) by the interval.

A brace of Adam Mitchell frees extended the home advantage early in the second-half but Harps kept plugging away to reduce their deficit to three points with ten minutes remaining.

The introduction of Tom Crampton off the bench brought freshness to the home attack and after setting up Brian Óg Flannery for a goal, he added a point himself to ease him team to victory.

Mitchell scored 0-9 for the winners, with McKenzie’s 1-2 and two points apiece from David Reid and Joey Moulds of significance by the final whistle.

Na Fianna remain unbeaten to date as they did just enough to see off Clanna Gael Fontenoy by 4-14 to 3-14 at Sean Moore Park.

The visitors looked well set for victory at the break as two Micheál Killarney goals and another from the lively David Murtagh pushed them eight points clear.

However, the hosts bounced back well to trail by two points with three minutes remaining before Seán Ryan struck a precious goal for Na Fianna, who held on thanks to excellent contributions over the hour from Neil Loftus, Eoin O’Sullivan and Darragh McHugh.
