In Go-Ahead Ireland AFL2, St Vincent’s continue to impress as they scored goals at crucial times on their way to a marginal 3-12 to 2-14 victory against Raheny at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn.
A Craig Wilson goal in the first-half kept the hosts in touch against a Raheny side that kept their scoreboard ticking over through the superb placed-ball kicking of goalkeeper Rob Hennelly.
The likes of Harry Curley, Bill Costello and Michael O’Rowe clipped over points for Vinnies as the contest evolved with second-half goals by James McCusker and Albert Martin proving pivotal by the final whistle, handing the hosts their seventh successive victory.
It proved similarly tight at Páirc Barróg as Pobal Parnell maintained their recent form as theykicked the last three points of the game on their way to a 0-15 to 1-11 win against Naomh Barróg.
A trio of TJ Tighe scores and a two-pointed effort by Jamie Sammon saw the visitors enter the break with a narrow lead and their trip home to Coolock was a happy one courtesy of second-half points from Tighe, Adam Doyle, Carl Sammon, Cillian Hunt and Harry Gardner.
At Collins Avenue, Whitehall Colmcille finally registered their first win of the campaign as they got the better of Fingallians by 5-22 to 1-20.
Sean Gannon top scored with 3-3 and with Sean Foran scoring an additional 0-9, the hosts eased home through further scores from Ben Cox and Rory Kerins.
