Trinity Gaels cemented their mid-table position in Division 3 of the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Football League when pipping Thomas Davis by 0-23 to 0-22 in Drumnigh last Saturday evening. 

The visitors looked well set for victory as they led by 0-17 to 0-7 at half-time but Gaels dominated after the break with Liam Glynn, Evan McDonagh, Jack Rowe, Craig Reilly, Josh McCann and Cathal Barrett all impressing. 

Reilly kicked a trio of two-pointed scores to kickstart his team’s comeback and with McCann also scoring six points, the hosts managed to get over the line thanks to four points from Jack Rowe, three Liam Glynn scores and a vital two-pointed effort by goalkeeper Thomas McCann. 

St Anne’s also registered their fourth win of the campaign with Dara McGrath, Cian O’Byrne, Sam Flood and Sean Delappe all hugely influential in their 2-15 to 2-7 win against Cuala. 

Jack O’Neill (1-3) and Scott Fulham (1-1) scored the home goals and with Luke Perry and Delappe scoring 0-3 apiece, they built up a winning total thanks to further scores by Darragh Fulham, O’Byrne and Aaron McGrath. 

At the top of the table, matters are incredibly tight with two points separating the top six sides after former leaders Clanna Gael Fontenoy lost top spot following their 0-22 to 0-15 home defeat to St Maur’s. 

This result allowed Erin’s Isle to take over at the summit following their 2-17 to 0-12 win against St Finian’s Swords while Ballyboughal kept up their impressive form of late when defeating St Margaret’s by 4-13 to 0-15.

In Go-Ahead Ireland AFL4, Castleknock took over top spot in the table with a dominant first-half showing helping them overcome O’Dwyer’s by 3-13 to 0-12 in Somerton Park. 

The hosts raced out of the blocks through a brace of goals from dual star Cian Boyle and the contest was effectively over by the interval as a Rian Buckley goal opened up a 3-11 to 0-3 lead. 

In Marlay Park, Ballinteer St John’s produced a stirring final quarter comeback to beat Fingal Ravens by 3-10 to 2-11. 

The hosts trailed by eight points with fifteen minutes remaining but with midfielder Eoin Byrne and half-back Eamonn Naughton impressing, they caught their opponents on the line through a late Senan Phelan goal. 

Phelan finished the contest with 1-2 to his name and with Adam Bates adding two points from midfield, St John’s did enough to prevail through 1-1 apiece by Sam Tully and Conor Browne. 

Ballinteer are joined in mid-table by an O’Toole’s team that got the better of Lucan Sarsfields by 3-13 to 3-9 at Blunden Drive. 

The evergreen Dave Mooney excelled at centre-forward for the hosts, lending his vast experience to the encounter while goals from Luke Gifford, Cathal Keane and Conor McStay saw the Larriers home with four points to spare.
