Ballyboden St Enda’s produced another dominant display on their way to a comfortable 5-15 to 0-3 victory against St Finian’s Swords in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Football League Division 3 encounter at Sancta Maria on Saturday evening.
Corner-back Richie O’Halloran and wing-back Ollie Brophy were the pick of the miserly home defence with Jimmy Meaney tormenting the away defence with a strong showing at full-forward.
Matters were far tighter in Bohernabreena as Clanna Gael Fontenoy maintained joint top position alongside Ballyboden with a hard-fought 4-7 to 1-13 win against St Anne’s.
A brace of Jack Flanagan goal and further green flags by Tadhg Cody and Philip Ruddy proved vital for the visitors, who held on by three points thanks to solid individual performances from Conor Hennessy, Aidan Duffy, Rory Tobin, Austin Dodd and David Meenan.
Elsewhere, both Erin’s Isle and Round Towers Clondalkin kept up the pace on the leaders and they picked up home wins against St Margaret’s and Clontarf respectively while St Maur’s enjoyed a dominant success away to lowly Ballymun Kickhams.
